FABULOUS FRIDAY

A couple of reasons why this Friday is so Fab!!

~~I started off this fabulous Friday using my seat warmers!! YES!! They are my favorite and I will never have another car that doesn't have them.

~~I then started this work day off with a caramel hot chocolate from Cups and my Pandora Christmas Station... complete with all of Mariah Carey's best Christmas tunes. Speaking of... the best one is on right now "All I Want For Christmas is YOOOOOOO-WAOOOOOOO BABAY!

~~I have Girls night tonight at Amerigo to look forward to!!! WOO HOO

~~It's Friday, so that means one more day until I get to see Kaylis & Jonny and Liz & Chris! I finally get to meet this kid. I was beginning to think he isn't real.

~~On this fabulous "Maroon Friday" the bulldawgs are 6 & 2 and hopefully tomorrow will be 7 & 2!!  (and I'm making Mexican Layer Dip and Oreo Balls tonight for the tailgate... pretty fab, as well)

~~I am back up to 8 miles on my running. I have been slacking in the long distance department, always doing 3-5 miles, but I'm back in action! Pretty Excited :) 4 more weeks til race day. I have to at least get to 10 miles before then, but hopefully I'll get even farther.

~~Exactly two weeks from today Baby Hayes here!

~~Speaking of babies... Please look at these two that made my day today! Ok... maybe they aren't babies anymore :( They are growing up so fast.

Sweet Branham in his Duck Costume!!

Sweet Brantley as Buzz Lightyear!! Love it!!

Wee Bit Wednesday

HALLOWEEN ADDITION

{one} have you ever seen a ghost?
I've never "seen" one, but i'm pretty sure one said my name at Meagan Rae's house one time. No, I am not kidding.

{two} when was the last time you dressed up for halloween?
Last Year! Kendol and I went as Nascar fans.

{three} what’s your favorite candy?
OOOO Anything Chocolate.... Snickers, Kit Kat, Reeses

{four} did you have a favorite costume growing up?
HHMMM.... Like I've said before, I always had awesome costumes. But, I guess I'll have to go with the trusty ole indian costume. I can't tell you how many people have worn this thing ha. It's been passed around for years. At least one person wears it every year.

{five} did you carve pumpkins this year?
Not Yet!! But I'm sure we will before the week is up.

{six} what’s your favorite scary movie?
Watcher in the Woods. I used to love that movie when I was little.

{seven} haunted houses or corn mazes?
I've never been in a corn maze, so I guess I'll say haunted houses.

{eight} are you superstitious?
Yes. Especially when it comes to sports. If we do something good while i'm standing up, I will not sit down until we do something bad.
Example: Being that we can take our cowbells to games now, I of course, took mine to the first football game this year. I forgot it and left it in the truck. We won. Second home game, I remembered it. We lost. I have not taken it back since and we have one every game. Needless to say, I am not to blame for the current cowbell debacle.

{nine} have you ever owned a black cat?
Heck No. Kendol would flip. He is super duper supersticious about  black cats ha.

{ten} what are you plans for this coming halloween?
Well, since Halloween is really on Sunday, but being celebrated on Saturday, it looks like I'll be rooting on my Dawgs in Starkville. Although I am way more excited about watching football, I'm really sad that I will miss the trick-or-treaters and won't get to dress up. Dressing up is my absolute favorite!!!

In celebration of Halloween, here are some of my favorite halloween pictures from years past!!

Marathon Monday

I have been bad. Very bad. I have only run once (for 30 minutes) since October 4th. AAAHHH Horrible!

I'm mad at myself, but I do admit that I needed the break. But the break is over now bc there's only 6 weeks left to train.

In my boredom, I have put together a little schedule to hopefully follow from now to race day. It has me running 4 days a week: One short run, one long run and 2 in-between.

Week 1
3 Miles - 3.1 Miles (5k) in 30:25  (10/18)
4 Miles  4 Miles in 38:41 (10/20) (new mile record @ 9:31)
5 Miles
9 Miles

Week 2
3.5 Miles  Ran 32 minutes- ipod wasn't tracking (10/26)
4.5 Miles
5 Miles
10 Miles

Week 3
3.5 Miles
5 Miles
5.5 Miles
10 Miles

Week 4
4 Miles
5 Miles
6 Miles
11 Miles

Week 5
4 Miles
5.5 Miles
6 Miles
11 Miles

Week 6
4 Miles
6 Miles
6.5 Miles
12 Miles

I'll be the first to admit this will probably never happen, but it gives me something to shoot for. Plus it will be fun to put a big ole X through the runs when I get done. My one major goal is to make my long distance for each week and hopefully reach 11-12 miles before race day!!

46 DAYS

Remember this is not about me training for a race, it is to raise money for St. Jude. If you would like to make a donation to help the sweet children at St. Jude, you can do it here!! www.mystjudeheroes.org/calliepc

Thursdays Thoughts

Just some random thoughts/ experiences from my adventure to Oxford for work.

-I will just start out by saying, I don't know how people travel all the time because you can't have a steady routine. Maybe it's because I'm in a place that I know absolutely nothing about.

-Why do I get so excited about the valour (I don't believe I've ever written that word, so I have no idea if that's spelled correctly) motel blankets?? I haven't undone the bed since I got here, just used the blankets. I have 2 at home in the linen closet that I never use ha.

-Oxford has plenty of good food and that's enough to keep me happy for a couple of days.

- From the Inn on campus to Abners is exactly 0.6 miles. (Yes, I finally went running for the first time since last Sunday)

-On my run, I met Miller's really strange, skinny jean wearing twin. I swear he looked just like him.

-I left my ipod at home, plus I had no idea where I was going, so I took my phone with me on my run.I discovered that I can text while running and that you get dirty looks from other pedestrians for playing pandora out loud. I'm sorry but I can't run in silence. It was my only option.

-I was about 20 yards away from Bill Clinton today when I went to the Union to get Chick-Fil-A. Is it sad that I didn't even care to stop and take a picture?

-I rekindled my love with Nicholas Sparks yesterday. I started "True Believer" yesterday morning while sitting in the H.R. Dept on campus "working" and finished it today. How can Mr. Sparks do this to me everytime? I don't think it has ever taken me more than 2 or 3 days to read one of his books.

-Since I finished "True Believer" (and it was fantastic, of course) I have now started on "The Last Song." Yea Yea, I have never read it or seen the movie.

-Ajax has the best Black Eyed Peas on the planet...and I don't even really like Black Eyed Peas!!

-You get lots of strange looks when you eat by yourself in a restaurant here. I eat by myself everyday so it doesn't bother me, but apparently here it's like I have a disease when I say "it'll just be one." I'm here for work people!!

-I got in the bed at 8:30 for the first time since Jr. High last night. And I did it again tonight.

-Easy A is an absolutely precious movie!! Must go see it.

-My favorite restaurant in Oxford is The Rib Cage.I doubt it's so high on other people's lists but I'm a sucker for bbq and Jackson's bbq selection sucks. This was the highlight of my week. BBQ Nachos, Miller Lite and a Football game on the tv. Can't beat that.

-I also rekindled my love for HGTV. I Forgot how much I love it. It's been a while!

-Sons of Anarchy is getting to be a little too much. It's so disappointing bc it was my favorite show.

-Baby Hayes has the cutest nursery on the planet!! Please check out Ann-Hamilton's pictures on fb. I cannot wait to get home and see the new stuff she's added since I left.

-My obsession with 90's on 9 on XM is getting out of hand. I don't think they have played a bad song since I left Jackson. LOVE

-I did my first blog from a hotel lobby computer last night. I'm sure they meant for that to be used for much more important things.

-I am now blogging this from my phone. Who knew I could write a blog from my phone?? This could get out of control!! FAST

-I have never seen so many converses, guys in skinny jeans and crazily dressed foreigners in my life!! Hysterical! I could sit in the cafeteria and people watch for hours.

-i have always known that I like to be around people (family, friends etc..) and don't require much alone time, so four days of being alone is enough for me. I haven't carried on a real conversation since Tuesday, except over the phone. 5 o'clock tomorrow can't come fast enough!

-And last but not least, the Hank Jr/Jamey Johnson concert is in 2 days and AH's second baby shower is Sunday!! Maybe that's why I'm so anxious to get out of here.

Ok I've rambled on long enough that it's finally time to go to bed! WOOHOO

P.S. Can you tell I'm bored?

Check ya on the flip side

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} have you ever milked a cow or a goat?
Heck No!! Gross

{two} what sound does your alarm make when it goes off in the morning?
The most annoying beeping pattern in the world.

{three} chocolate milk or hot chocolate?
I was born allergic to milk, so I have never had a glass of milk in my life. So, I wouldn't know. GROSS

{four} what is one of the quirkiest things about you?
I'm all kinds of quirky. I wouldn't even know where to start.

{five} are you more like your mom or your dad?
I look (exactly) like my daddy!! But, I think personality wise, I'm a little bit of both.

{six} do you sleep with the tv on?
Off, for sure! If the tv is on, i'm watching it. I don't understand how people fall asleep watching tv. I guess that's bc it takes me forever to go to sleep.

{seven} if you were a crayon, what color would you be?
YELLOW!!! Bc it's bright and fun and happy!!

{eight} ross, joey, or chandler?
I'm going to go with Chandler bc he's my favorite!

{nine} do you play any musical instruments?
Absolutely not, but I would give anything to play the guitar.

{ten} what’s the worst thing you’ve ever cooked/baked?
Hmmm... One time I tried to make Mrs. Angie's spicy noodle thing that she used to fix for Meagan Rae and I when we were little and it turned out awful. And by awful, I mean completely unedible.

Rachel's Random Questions

Ok so my friend over at Simple Little Joys has started her own little question game for the day!! I must participate.

1) Most embarrassing moment? And don't leave out ANY details!
I honestly can't think if anything major, off of the top of my head, besides like falling or something. I will come back and change this if I think of something.

2) Your favorite outfit and why?
This is my new favorite article of clothing, that I have bought recently!! I will be wearing it tonight for the first time YAY. And there's no explanation needed bc it's just precious.

3) Why did you start blogging? How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging in June, I believe. I just loved reading other people's blogs that they would post to facebook and twitter. So, one day when I was bored, I decided to try it out for myself. Now I'm kind of obsessed.

4) Favorite quote?
These are two quotes from my preacher. I don't know if he made them up or if he was quoting someone else, but i'm going to give him all of the credit.

"When everything else changes, God's presence never does." ~ Brother Jim Phillips
"We need to know that we have the capacity to experience PEACE with God even while things around us are going to pieces"- Brother Jim Phillips

5) If your house was on fire, what are the first 3 things you would grab?
~Snowball - my childhood stuffed rabbit. He is still in perfect condition and is sitting on our guest bed (my bed my whole life) just like he has been since I was born.
~My picture box and Christmas ornament box- I have a huge rubbermaid box full of nothing but photo albums starting in about 6th grade. I'm not sure I can pick it up, but I would find a way to get it out. Also, my Christmas ornament box with all of my ornaments that I have been collecting since I was born.
~I don't even know where to start after that... I can think of 1,000 things. (such as all of my McCarty...but that can be replaced) I know furniture is not what you try to save in a fire bc it would take too much time, but I don't know what I would do if this happened to me. I have two antique Jenny Lynn three quarter beds and tons of other antique furniture that's been passed down to me. Plus, the sofa table that JuJu gave me for college graduation. It's my favorite peice of furniture that I own. Those are things that can't be replaced.

6) If you could swap lives with a celebrity for one week, who would you choose and why?
~Kris Jenner- just so I could meet Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and see if their lives are really as entertaining as I think they are ha! I wouldn't actually want to be one of the 3 bc then I wouldn't get to meet that one.

7) Name three things you want to accomplish by the start of 2011.
~run my first half marathon
~be soft drink free
~be the best Auntie Cal in the world

8) Biggest guilty pleasure that you really hate admitting to anyone?
hmmm... I don't really have trouble admitting it, but I am obsessed with celebrities. Their lives are so interesting to me. I guess bc they are so opposite of our lives here in little Ole Mississippi.

9) What is your favorite picture and why? Post it with your answers!
This was our spring break trip to Chicago senior year. This is the Beer Gardens at the end of Navy Pier. CLASSIC

Elizabeth Kalich, Mallory Jackson, Me, Kate Lassandrello, Katie Horton, Leslie Clement
10) What is the best book you've ever read?
I guess I have to say "Nights in Rodanthe" bc I read it in two nights. Anything by Nicholas Sparks, really. He gets me everytime.

Fabulous Friday

Ok so I have had another one of "those" weeks, like the last time I did a Fabulous Friday blog. This week has just been blah. I just got overwhelmed, I think and a little burned out on everything.... just OVER IT ALL! So burned out, that I haven't run or done ANY type of exercise since Sunday. This is the first time since January 1 that I have not exercised at least 3 or 4 days a week. NO running, zumba, 30 day shred or part of P90X at all... NOTHING. I just have not been in the mood for anything. Until Wednesday when my sweet friend Rachel posted this quote on her facebook.

‎"Accept each day just as it comes to you, remembering that I am sovereign in your life. Rejoice in this day that I have made, trusting that I am abundantly present in it. Instead of regretting or resenting the way things are, thank Me in all circumstances. Trust Me and don't be afraid; thank Me and rest in My sovereignty." -Jesus Calling (maybe I should go pick up this devotional book!!)

That put a smile on my face and instantly changed my mood and outlook on my life at the moment. It made me realize just how fabulous my life is, despite being completely burned out. So, here are some of the pretty fab things from my life this week!!

1) Kendol!!! What would I do without him?? He deserves to be first on my "fabulous list" bc he put up with my "mood" all week :) He's the best!!

2) Right after that quote put a smile on my face, I did what.... Made a hair appointment of course!! I needed to spice things up a bit... Get out of my funk. Let me just tell you, this haircut was pretty drastic, but I love it!! I feel like myself again. I am just not meant to have long hair. I just didn't look right. So here are before and after and what I asked for pictures ha.

BEFORE:

PICTURES I SHOWED HER OF WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR:

AFTER:
A little shorter than I expected, but I love it!!
And it saved me about 10 minutes of blow drying this morning, so of course, I'm all about it. This picture is from about 2 years ago, but it's basically the same cut!! AAAHHHHH NO MORE OF THAT LONG STRINGY HAIR. YES!!!

3) Ann-Hamilton's baby showers are FINALLY here!! One is this Sunday and one's next Sunday. They are both going to be FAB!! I can't wait. So yesterday, after my haircut, I ran in the children's store next door, just to make sure they didn't have something that baby Hayes just has to have. Well... you can guess the outcome. They had something so "fabulous" that I, of course, couldn't pass up. I'm pretty sure the employees there, think I am cra-zay bc I spazzed out just a little bit. I can't tell  you what it is until after the shower Sunday, but I will definitely let you know. It is the cutest thing i've ever seen in my whole life. AAAAHHHHHH!!! I will be getting a phone call from Ann-Hamilton in 5,4,3,2.....

4) Also on Wednesday, one of my best friends Kate Lass (MISS YOU!!!) posted this to my facebook wall! If this doesn't make you laugh (out loud), I don't know what will.

Even with all his crazy hairdo's and tacky clothes, I still love JT just as much as I did 15 years ago. Yes, N'SYNC started 15 years ago. We are that old. He is still FAB :)

O and P.S. Lance Bass is in town and he was at the Fair last night. I am so mad at myself for not going. This is my second lost opportunity to meet an N'SYNCer :(

5) My house looks FABULOUS!! We have friends coming in town for the weekend, who've never seen our house, so I had to do an emergency deep clean! It has to be as cute as possible, of course. I absolutely hate cleaning my house, but I love the outcome... Now if I could just keep it this way HA!

6) Three little tiny changes I've made to the house lately that I think are just FAB.

A little makeover for the top of the fridge!!!

New frame MS Gifts ordered me for one of our wedding pictures!!!

My precious new polka dot pumpkin from MS Gifts!!!
This was the day I planted the mums, so they are much bigger and prettier now!

7)  We have a rehearsal dinner for Colin and Erin tonight at Shapley's!! I have never been to Shapley's but have always wanted to, so I am super dooper excited. I just know it's going to be delicious. I can't wait for their wedding festivities all weekend. It's going to be so FAB.

8) I just had Keifer's again. Keifer's Curly Fries, two days in a row for lunch... don't mind if I do!!!! FAB (Too bad the big Keifer's doesn't have them)
